Some of you already know about my involvement with https://www.compassion.ca/donation.asp?intid=51&intredirectid=199" target="_blank">Compassion Canada. My husband and I have been sponsoring a child in Kenya for the last 8 years. During my time with Compassion, one of the things that I have found unique about them is the Compassion Advocacy Network. It allows anyone to advocate for a child. While most of the advocates are already child sponsors, some are not. But, each tries to do what they can to raise awareness about Compassion Canada and the work they are doing throughout the world for children in need.
As a child-sponsor, I wanted to do something more. I would love to sponsor more than one child, but I simply can't afford to and so I asked myself, what else could I do to help? My goal is to raise $2,000 this year for Compassion's Unsponsored Children's Fund. How am I going to do this? Through sales of my book Come to Me. One dollar from each book sold will go to Compassion. Am I setting myself up for a fall? Maybe. Selling 100 books seemed daunting to me, selling 2,000 will only happen through the grace of God and your generosity.
Are you looking to start a bible study group or book club? Come to Me is about the life of Christ. You get to read a novel and use it to study Christ's life at the same time! Plus, all books purchased through this website are discounted. What a deal!
Don't want to buy my book? That's okay. Can you still donate something to Compassion anyway? On my home page you will find a Compassion Logo. Click on it and it will take you directly to their site. You will see my name and the name of my book on the page. Don't be alarmed - the money is not going to me. My name and book are there, so that Compassion knows the donations are going to their Unsponsored Children's Fund because you donated through my website.
I want Come to Me to be more than just about selling books. It's my way of giving back to those less fortunate. If you would like to purchase a signed copy of Come to Me, visit my bookstore today.
